It Together
Let's sum everything up.
The
human system, like all complex systems, operates on the principles of
obliquity. This means that using simple cause and effect to attempt to
make helpful changes will not work.
If
we want to stop crime, passing laws to make crime illegal will not
work. Using direct targets to achieve anything in society will
cause problems.
As
we have seen, CEOs who make profit their company's primary object will
likely cause the company to become less profitable. Sometimes, they
will even
ruin it.
This cannot be stressed
enough: stopping green house gasses by signing green house gas
reduction agreements WILL NOT WORK!
The
same goes for terrorists, extinctions, paedophiles, war, crime, disease, poverty, and just
about any other human created problem there is.
What
will work is using the power and nature of our own complexity to have
these solutions emerge. We are VERY sensitive to initial conditions.
The tiniest change in the right place is all it will take.
The
first step is to understand how this works in a functional real way.
That is what all this website is about. That is what the book The Ancient Art of Connection
is about.
As
your understanding grows, you will not be able to help yourself. You
will become an agent for change because you will come to see
the patterns around you in an entirely new way.
You
will begin to talk about it to other people. This is when the second
magic will begin. As soon as you begin to talk to other people about
this, connections between us will begin to change in the tiniest
ways.
A butterfly will have flapped
her wings.
The
thunderstorm we are looking to generate is not one of destruction, but
one of creative re-organization. If enough people work to really
understand the principles laid out here and in The Ancient Art of Connection,
at a critical point, changes will spontaneously emerge.
I
know this sounds too easy for some of you (perhaps too hard for some of
you), but remember, this is new and is something the system all around
us teaches us not to see.
We must re-learn to see these
possibilities before we can bring them into reality.
